Regarding that latter point, Blizzard, in general, tends to first ensure that each class has at least one viable DPS spec, and then try to balance the other specs within each of those classes.
Lacks a healing offspec, so I’ll never be asked to off-heal a fight (I enjoy healing on a couple classes (druids, monks) in 5-mans, but I hate raid healing).Has a tank offspec, allowing me to shortcut queues.Honestly, that’s half the reason I initially picked up DH. For example, the daily heroic early in the expansion, the weekly mythics while they are relevant, quick-queuing for instance WQs, even running M+ and lower difficulties of the current raid are all perfectly viable even without a fully optimized offspec, and it’s much easier to get those done if your offspec is a tank or healer role.
You will always have one spec thats doing well and all three take a while to master.Įh, on the other side of this argument is that multi-role classes (what used to be “hybrid”, though they really aren’t that anymore) are often very strong picks for your main, because they can use the higher-demand off-specs to get done stuff out of raids. Mages, warrior, rogues make much better mains.
